POSTER PHOTO SHOOT

It was amazing to watch the preparations and process of the photo shoot with the brilliant photographer STEVEN MILLER for the Silvering Path poster. Just thought I should throw a few of these photos up here for all to see! Im afraid there has been some trouble with folks viewing video, so I will post video from the shoot soon when the tech trouble is resolved.

INTRODUCTION:

On August 19th, we held a public recording event to capture crowd sounds, marching sounds, metal orchestra sounds and such things that can only sound great with a mass of people.  The sounds will be used on Degenerate Art Ensemble’s 9th Album.   Among those in attendance was our CELEBRITY GUEST BLOGGER, the wonderful composer/performer John Osbold of the unmatched magnificent band AWESOME . John was kind enough to post his experience of the night here on this blog. We will be posting actual sounds of the event shortly.

On a rainy Tuesday night at the fantasticYoungstown Cultural Arts Center in lovely West Seattle, a troupe of adventurous souls met with the mad scientists of DAE to create a smorgasbord of sounds for the upcoming album & show…

    VIDEO AND INSTRUMENT DEVELOPMENT

Kind visitor to the blog “ MEOW MEOW ” had this totally fun video to contribute to the post about the Gene Kelly video post we put up the other day (see below a couple days ago). In this video, choreographer Lauren Thomas takes a video of herself dancing from when she was 4 years old and learns her 4 year old dance. Totally cute. In case you are just joining, we are working on a dance and video piece that was inspired by the Gene Kelly one and were asking for inspiration from yall out there..

In other news and progress, Colin Ernst, the creator of the in-progress WEEBLE WOBBLE (see a down below also) brought in a rough prototype of an instrument that will be attached to the weeble wobble (there will be a bunch of sound making contraptions on it. Yes Colin is insane. Yes we are going to make music with the damn thing.
